About the Role

We are currently seeking a Finance Manager to join our pre-opening team at Manhattan Grand Hotel. This role holds full responsibility for the hotel's financial operations, controls, and reporting, providing accurate, timely financial insight to ownership and leadership as the hotel moves through pre-opening and into successful operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all financial operations of the Hotel, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with statutory and ownership reporting requirements.
  • Develop and manage the Hotel's annual budget and forecasts in coordination with Department Heads and the General Manager.
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial performance against budget, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls, financial policies, and procedures across all departments.
  • Ensure full compliance with Maldivian tax regulations, statutory filings, and applicable financial legislation.
  • Oversee service charge distribution, pension contribution processing, and payroll accuracy in line with Maldivian labour law.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.
  • Support pre-opening financial readiness, including chart of accounts setup, system implementation, and financial SOP development.
  • Provide financial analysis and business insight to the General Manager and ownership to support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with the Hotel's brand standards, financial governance, and Standard Operating Procedures.

About You

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in hotel finance, including at least 2–3 years in a Finance Manager or Assistant Finance Manager role, preferably within an upscale or luxury hospitality environment, with pre-opening experience considered a strong advantage.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel accounting, financial controls, and statutory compliance requirements in the Maldives.
  • Proven ability to prepare financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to a high standard of accuracy.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience building and developing a finance team.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in hotel accounting systems and financial reporting software.
  • Flexibility to work variable hours as required, particularly during the pre-opening and financial year-end periods.
