About the Role
We are currently seeking an Electrician to join our pre-opening team at Manhattan Grand Hotel. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems throughout the hotel, ensuring safe, reliable, and uninterrupted power and lighting for guests, colleagues, and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, panels, and fixtures across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to identify and resolve faults, hazards, or inefficiencies before they impact operations.
- Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns, guest room issues, and emergency call-outs, minimising disruption to guests and operations.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, generators, UPS systems, and emergency lighting in line with the maintenance schedule.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals to guide installation and repair work.
- Ensure all electrical work is carried out in compliance with applicable safety codes, regulations, and Hotel standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage.
- Coordinate with the Engineering Supervisor and Chief Engineer on project work, renovations, and specialised installations.
- Liaise with external contractors and utility providers for specialised repairs or statutory inspections as required.
- Ensure compliance with the Hotel's brand standards, health and safety regulations, and Standard Operating Procedures.
About You
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience as an Electrician, preferably within a hotel, resort, or commercial facilities environment.
- Recognised trade qualification or certification in Electrical Engineering/Installation.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, wiring standards, and safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
- Experience with generators, UPS systems, and emergency power/lighting systems will be considered an advantage.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Good physical fitness, with the ability to work at height and in confined spaces as required.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts and respond to emergency call-outs as required.
