About the Role

We are currently seeking a Purchasing Lead to join our pre-opening team at Manhattan Grand Hotel. This is an exciting opportunity to establish a procurement function that supports operational excellence from day one. As Purchasing Lead, you will oversee sourcing, procurement, inventory coordination, and supplier relationships, ensuring every purchase delivers value, quality, and efficiency while supporting the hotel's commitment to exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the daily purchasing operations, ensuring the timely procurement of goods and services across all hotel departments.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to achieve the best balance of quality, service, pricing, and delivery.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with local and international vendors to ensure a reliable supply chain.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, financial controls, and ethical purchasing standards.
• Collaborate with department heads to forecast operational requirements and maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and strategic sourcing.
• Coordinate with Finance to ensure accurate purchasing documentation, invoice reconciliation, and budget compliance.
• Establish purchasing procedures, approved supplier lists, and inventory controls during the pre-opening phase.
• Monitor supplier performance and ensure products consistently meet the hotel's quality standards.

About You

To excel in this role, you should have:

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably within the hospitality industry.
• Strong negotiation, vendor management, and contract administration skills.
• Sound knowledge of procurement best practices, inventory management, and cost control principles.
• Experience working with purchasing, inventory, and ERP/POS systems; familiarity with hospitality software is an advantage.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced pre-opening environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
• A proactive mindset with a commitment to integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Bachelor's degree or professional qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred.
