About the Role
We are currently seeking a Door Ambassador to join our pre-opening team at Manhattan Grand Hotel. As the very first and last face our guests encounter, this role sets the tone for the entire hotel experience, delivering a warm, gracious, and memorable welcome that reflects the spirit of Manhattan Grand from the moment guests arrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Warmly welcome and greet all arriving and departing guests at the hotel entrance with genuine hospitality and professionalism.
- Assist guests with vehicle arrival and departure, including opening car doors and coordinating with the Valet/Transport team where applicable.
- Assist with guest luggage handling on arrival and departure, coordinating closely with the Bell/Concierge team.
- Provide a courteous send-off to departing guests, ensuring a positive final impression of their stay.
- Monitor the main entrance and driveway area to ensure smooth traffic flow, cleanliness, and safety at all times.
- Provide directional assistance and basic guest information, referring detailed enquiries to Concierge or Front Office as appropriate.
- Coordinate with Security and Front Office regarding VIP arrivals, group movements, and high-traffic periods.
- Maintain a sharp, professional appearance and constant presence at the entrance during assigned shifts.
- Report any safety hazards, suspicious activity, or maintenance issues at the entrance to the relevant department.
- Ensure compliance with the Hotel's brand standards, grooming guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures.
About You
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a guest-facing hospitality role, preferably as a Door Ambassador, Bellman, or Valet within an upscale or luxury hospitality environment.
- A warm, welcoming presence with genuine enthusiasm for guest interaction.
- Strong physical stamina, with the ability to stand for extended periods and assist with luggage handling.
- A valid driving licence will be considered an advantage, particularly for guest vehicle assistance.
- Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages will be considered an advantage.
- A well-groomed, professional appearance and confident, courteous demeanour.
- Ability to remain alert, observant, and responsive in a fast-paced entrance environment.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays as required.
