About the Role

We are currently seeking a Tailor to join our pre-opening team at Manhattan Grand Hotel. This role is responsible for the alteration, repair, and upkeep of colleague uniforms and hotel linen, ensuring every Team Member presents a polished, well-fitted appearance that reflects the Hotel's brand standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Alter, repair, and maintain colleague uniforms to ensure proper fit, appearance, and durability across all departments.
• Conduct uniform fittings for new hires and existing colleagues, taking accurate measurements and adjusting garments accordingly.
• Repair damaged uniforms, linen, and soft furnishings, including stitching, hemming, and patching as required.
• Maintain an inventory of uniform stock, fabrics, threads, and sewing supplies, coordinating replenishment with the Executive Housekeeper.
• Operate and maintain sewing machines and tailoring equipment, ensuring proper functioning and safe use.
• Coordinate with the Housekeeping and Laundry teams to identify uniforms requiring repair, replacement, or alteration.
• Maintain accurate records of uniform issue, alterations, and repairs for audit and inventory purposes.
• Ensure all altered and repaired items meet the Hotel's grooming and presentation standards before return to colleagues.
• Support pre-opening uniform fitting drives, ensuring all colleagues are properly fitted ahead of hotel launch.
• Ensure compliance with the Hotel's brand standards and Standard Operating Procedures.

About You

To excel in this role, you should have:

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Tailor or Seamstress, preferably within a hotel, resort, or garment/uniform manufacturing environment.
• Strong technical skill in garment alteration, repair, and fitting techniques.
• Proficiency operating industrial and domestic sewing machines and tailoring equipment.
• Strong attention to detail, with a good eye for fit, fabric, and finish.
• Good organisational skills, particularly in managing uniform inventory and fitting schedules.
• Basic communication skills in English sufficient for coordinating fittings and reporting.
• Ability to manage a high volume of fittings and alterations during the pre-opening uniform rollout.
• Flexibility to work variable hours, including weekends, particularly during the pre-opening phase.
