About the Role

We are currently seeking an Executive Housekeeper to join our pre-opening team at Manhattan Grand Hotel. This role holds full leadership responsibility for the Housekeeping department, setting the standards of cleanliness, comfort, and presentation that define the guest experience across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the overall operations of the Housekeeping department, including guest rooms, public areas, laundry, and horticulture (where applicable).
  • Develop and implement Housekeeping standards, cleaning procedures, and inspection protocols aligned with the Hotel's brand promise.
  • Recruit, train, and develop the Housekeeping team, building a strong service culture ahead of and following hotel opening.
  • Prepare and manage the departmental budget, controlling costs related to labour, guest supplies, linen, and cleaning materials.
  • Oversee room inspections, quality control, and preventive maintenance reporting in coordination with Engineering.
  • Manage inventory and procurement of linen, amenities, and cleaning supplies in coordination with Purchasing and Stores.
  • Coordinate closely with Front Office to ensure timely room readiness, particularly during high-occupancy periods and VIP arrivals.
  • Develop and oversee Lost & Found procedures, and manage guest requests, complaints, and special arrangements related to housekeeping.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations across all housekeeping and laundry operations.
  • Establish training programs and standard operating procedures ahead of pre-opening, ensuring departmental readiness for launch.
  • Ensure compliance with the Hotel's brand standards, grooming guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures.

About You

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in Housekeeping management, including at least 2–3 years as Executive Housekeeper or Assistant Executive Housekeeper, preferably within an upscale or luxury hospitality environment, with pre-opening experience considered a strong advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, laundry management, and international cleanliness/hygiene standards.
  • Proven leadership ability with experience building and developing a large, multi-functional team from the ground up.
  • Strong budgeting, cost control, and inventory management skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Sound understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to housekeeping and laundry operations.
  • Working knowledge of housekeeping management systems and PMS integration will be considered an advantage.
  • Flexibility to work variable hours, including weekends and public holidays, particularly during the pre-opening phase.
